SAMPLE REPORT
This is an example of the report format, using illustrative figures. It shows how a weekly report is laid out and the kind of observation it makes.
What the report contains
A summary page covering every product against every retailer, week on week, plus category movement and the week’s observations. Then one page per product: your listing across all retailers, a competitor table with retailers as columns, and what the data shows.
01 PRICE
Tesco reduced Chilli Jam by 7% to £3.25. No promotional flag and no end date on the page, so it is a base price change. Your Sainsbury’s and Ocado prices are unchanged at £3.50, leaving a 7% gap between Tesco and the other two.
02 SEARCH
Your Tesco search position for ‘chilli jam’ moved from 4th to 7th, while Ocado improved from 8th to 5th for the same term.
03 AVAILABILITY
Caramelised Onion Chutney has been unavailable at Ocado for six days and gained no reviews there this week, against an average of two a week over the previous month.
That’s the whole style of it. A fact, and the context that makes it matter. Nothing telling you what to do about it — that part’s yours.
